Default 2000 GMC yukon CD error

i got into my truck acouple days ago and put in a cd and it said "err" and spit the cd out.

I was wondering if there is anyway to fix this problem other then taking it in to the dealer?

Turn off the radio and disconnect the battery for 2 min and reconnect the battery. This should reset the radio and if not your going to have to take it to the dealer and have them reset it with a tech2 scanner.

Mine does the same thing only when its cold (less than 20 deg F). It usually works fine after its wormed up. I have always wondered it this is condenstion on the cd or the sensor that reads it.

The problem lies in the laser eye that reads the cd. If there's anytihing, even a speck of dust, that will be at least one source of cds not reading correctly. Then if you try to play cd's that you've burned yourself, you'll get the same err reading on the display.
