Default i have a 1999 gmc sonoma pick up...i went to change the oil filter and it

wouldnt come off.? So...i took and oil wrench and it broke in half along with the can being crished and ripped off the block. Now all i have left is the base of the old oil filter and i have no clue how to get it off now. All that is left of the old oil filter is about a quarter inch of the old filter still attached to the block. i need some help any ideas????

Option 1: duct tape around the remains of the oil oil filter and then try using the oil filter wrench again or use a better oil wrench, which is the strap that connects to a ratchet.

Option 2: put a scredriver into one of the holes in the top of the filter and tapped it with a hammer for awhile till it breaks loose enough to remove with the Oil filter wrench.

Note: make sure your tuning it the right way to remove it and that your not trying to tighten it. Good luck and keep us all posted on how you got the oil filter off.
