The other thing that can cause this is a bad fuel pressure regulator leaking gas, also a bad EGR valve or a faulty (IAC) Air Idle Control valve. Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and clean the EGR and IAC with fuel injector cleaner. If the problem still there, do a fuel pressure drop test to see if your fuel pressure regulator is leaking. Good luck and keep us all posted, and hope it's as simple as cleaning the EGR or IAC.

i put in a new spider assembly & regulator & injector came with it. the only other thing i could think of was the two lines that go to the regulator but i havent replaced them yet. ill do that after i put new bearings in the motor

When you reinstalled the fuel lines, did you use oil on the connections not to damage the o rings. Keep us posted and good luck, those lines are also common to crack when they are moved around to much when replacing the SCPI.
