Default Remove and Replace antenna on 2008 Envoy

My son ran my 2008 GMC Envoy through the car wash the other day and the antenna whip broke off below where it screws onto the antenna base. Can anyone tell me step-step or have a diagram as to how to remove entirely the antenna including the base which is below the plastic cow and replace with a new one?

The are two bolts that hold the bracket in place, two 8mm screws holding it to the fender. The cable runs between the fender and the interior body panel. Somewhere in there (it's hard to reach, but you can do it) it passes through a rubber gromet into the passenger cab where the passenger's feet rest. If you pull the molding off and pull the carpet back you will see the cable. There's a splice there so you can disconnect it easily. Pull it through the outside of the truck.

Make sure you silicone shut the hole where the rubber grommet was to keep the road dirt & moisture out of the truck.

(actually, this is how I did a antenna delete to my friends 06 Envoy, it does have an antenna in the truck. But it's hidden... and there has been NO issues with reception. )

Good luck and hope this helps.
