Where is the Location of a vent valve for a 1999 GMC JIMMY?

I have a PO446 error code on my jimmy and its a problem with the purge solenoid or the vent valve. Someone told me that it could just be some charcoal or dirt lodged in the vent valve near the gas tank. Can anyone tell me where that is? I'm having a hard time finding it or even finding the charcoal canister. Thank you and pictures would be appreciated.
