2007 GMC Yukon won't start

A couple weeks ago my 2007 Yukon wouldn't start. All the lights and stuff come on, but the engine won't turn over when the key is turned. After sitting for 30 minutes or so, it starts up like nothing ever happened. Every couple days it will do this. The remote start won't start it during this time either. The dealer says they can't check it out until it is acting up. Today I had it towed to the dealer when it acted up, but by the time it arrived it was starting up again. It is likely not the key, because it has happened with both sets of keys. The battery is new. Onstar diagnostics doesn't detect anything wrong. Any ideas??

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having with your Yukon. Have you thought about taking it to another dealership for a second opinion? Keep me posted!

ok now this is bull (sorry laura) but why would you have to " take it another dealer " to find the problem. i belive it up to GM to make sure the dealership has qualified techs. all dealers should be the same as far as tech training is concorned. now i worked at a GM dealer ship for 4 years (Hated it but thats another story) and i know not all techs are equal. but is up to GM to make sure there techs are Cerfired so we don't have to dealer shop. all should be the same!

As a former GM dealership employee, I’m sure you know that all dealerships are independently owned and operated. Therefore, the dealership owner is responsible for the hiring of its service advisors. We obviously have confidence in our service departments, which is why we recommend them on this forum. I apologize if you feel that you have not had exemplary treatment at a dealership, and I would be happy to document those comments if you’d like to private message me.

service advisors Do not repair the cars techs do and GM does makes sure they have qualifyed techs. so why should you have to "shop" dealers to get your car fixed?

I don't know if you fixed your problem yet but we had the same issue with ours and, but ours also when you turn the vehicle off it tried to crank over as well. We took it in and the dealer had an aftermarket shock sensor added to all of thier vehicles and was causing that. It has a little green flashing light by the E. Brake release. We took it in they disconnected it and was fine in all of 20 mins.
