Hello all members,

I’m new to this forum and I’m living in Belgium and also owner of à GMC K1500 pick up truck from 1989.
Unfortunately the truck don’t start up anymore after a long stand still.
Don’t know what’s wrong with it!
It cranks but no start.
Fuel pump works
Distributor changed
Plugs changed
And some other parts also changed behind the distributor without any luck!

All information is appreciated to help to start up again this GMC
Thanks

Did you get it running? Is it carbureted or fuel injected? Just dig thru the basics.. Air/Compression, Fuel, Spark, Timing.

I'm a little late here but had same problem. 1998 Sierra 5.7L was setting for 6 years in garage. no start. I added fresh fuel plus fuel injector cleaner to fuel tank. Motor cranked but no start. Came back a week later to tow the truck home and it fired right up. Drove it home. I figured the fresh fuel and the injector cleaner needed a little soaking time to unclogged the fuel injector "poppit valves" that are known to stick in the closed position. If the truck is parked and hardly driven best to keep fuel injector cleaner added to the fuel tank on regular basis.
