2005 Safari, Distributor Cap / Rotor Issues?

Hi, I have the following:
*2005 Safari / AWD / 4.7 L
*Est. miles, 171,000
I used to have another Safari that I had for 10 years, prior to this '05, and never had this problem.
Problem:
>I have literally had installed in this Van, (4) times not including the original, (5), a Distributor Cap / Rotor. These kits never come with any type of -O- ring or gasket to act as a moisture barrier.
>Seems like, depending on the weather, ie. cold to humidity, rain dampness, etc., my van just won't turn over! Very Frustrating to say the least.
>I never ever had a vehicle that is like this one with this issue.
Please Help?
>Did anyone ever hear of such a thing with this (year) of Safari?
>Can anyone elaborate as to why this is happening?
>Could it be the Distributor, itself? Be replaced?
>Could it be something else beside the Dist. cap & Rotor?
>Just had a full tune-up about (2_ years ago.
***Just Sad, that every time now when I go out to this van to start it, it's like 50/50 chance of starting!
Thank You all for reading my post and I hope that someone can shed some light on this for me.
