Default Adding air conditioning to non-A/C 2001 Sonoma

Hello folks,

Newbie here. I have a lead on a 2001 Sonoma in mint condition with less than 70000 miles. Only downside is that there is no air conditioning. I am still considering it as this will be a secondary vehicle (I average only 7K a year with my current pickup, much of that in the winter). I live in the Midwest where the summers can be a bit steamy.

I was wondering what might be involved with either adding an aftermarket unit (if any are offered for this model) or yanking out a unit from a junk vehicle and installing it in this truck. I realize that either option will involve a lot of work, but I'm very mechanically inclined as I had rebuilt the engine in my current pickup (Brand "F", Model "R" lol).

Thanks in advance for your advice.
