Hi my name is Liz and I own a 2013 Yukon Denali 6.2L. I bought the Denali used 2 years ago with 33K miles on it and now it only has 49K. This is my 2nd Yukon and until recently have vowed to only purchase Yukons as they were my favorite SUV. Why until recently, you ask? Well, 2 days ago I was driving to the store and my Yukon started making a loud clicking noise, and then decelerated from 45 mph to 20 mph and started shaking a little. I was able to make it back home and had a mechanic com take a quick look to see if it was serious. I was basically told the engine was done.

I have joined this forum as I wait for a tow truck to come pick up my Yukon to take it to the dealer so they can run the diagnostics and give me the official ailment, but like all people who know nothing about engines and motors I am preparing and researching so that I do not get taken advantage when it is time for repair. Unfortunately I fond out this morning that the powertrain warranty expired in March of this year. So, I am hoping to learn enough from this forum to know whether the dealer is going to charge me top dollar to do the bare minimum or if they will recommend a true fix.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry for the problems you are having. That seems like awfully low mileage to be a terminal engine issue (depending on how it was taken care of). I would wait and see what the dealer says, if it seems unreasonable get another opinion. If it is indeed the engine, it is not going to be a cheap fix.
