Cool 2008 Acadia Radio cutting in and out randomly

Hopefully there isn't another thread on this I didn't see. Our 2008 Acaida SLT has a navigation/DVD/radio and has been great until eight weeks ago. The radio cuts in and out no matter if its on AM, FM, or XM. We are in the same terrain as we have been before and have had no problems until now. The power to the radio never goes off, but it does pop, and fizzle in and out. This also affects our door chime, and when we open the rear hatch. I have also noticed that when the car is shut down completely we still hear an intermittant pop from the speakers. We really like our Acadia and would like to have our radio back!!!

KansasStcat,
I would like to apologize for the issues that you have experienced with your vehicle. Have you had your dealer look into this for you? If you have not I would suggest that you have them look into your concerns; they are in the best position to get this issue properly diagnosed for you. I would also like you to keep me posted on your progress with your dealer and if you have any other questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thank you,
Stacy GMC Customer Service

Red face

Stacy,

Yes, I've had it in to the dealer and they say its a $90.00 upgrade to the navigation radio. I can't get them to tell me the whole process, but it's something they can only do during the week and it seems they are hooking a laptop to the radio or to some other ecm type device to upgrade it.

To me this is some kind of operating system upgrade which is something like an upgrade to a smart phone or laptop. The thing is I would really like to understand this change to my radio before they do it. The other thing I don't like is the fact that this "Alien" change to my radio is something that costs more than I am willing to pay for it.

Thank you for your concern.
