Angry 2008 GMC Acadia transmission

Several months ago, we purchased a used 2008 GMC Acadia. Within a few months, the transmission went out (as experienced by so many other owners). We repaired it at our own expense. After reading about the multitude of issues others are having with this vehicle we decided to trade it in before something else went wrong. Unfortunately, factoring in the repair cost, that meant we lost a considerable amount of money in a short time.

We just received a notice from General Motors stating that they would reimburse the cost of repairs related to:
"a condition where engine coolant leaks from the water pump shaft seal and may result in water pump failure. These leaks are often due to vehicle operation with a low engine coolant level. Proper maintenance of the engine coolant level will increase shaft seal reliability and ensure that the water pump operates as intended."

This vehicle met the criteria listed of being under 120,000 miles and within 10 years of being originally serviced. We are wondering if the transmission is related to the coolant issue. Any ideas? Perhaps I need to take a weekend and register my complaints and "review of the GMC Acadia" on car complaints, Edmunds, and the many other sites that are taking feedback. I would prefer to think GEneral Motors would just make things right.
