four wheel drive

Hey Guys, So I have a 2001 Jimmy SLS bought it used a last summer. I noticed over the winter that my 4wd isn't working. I haven't really looked at it yet. I just know that when I try to activate it there are no indication lights that come on and it stays in 2wd. Where should I start my trouble...
