intermittent

my 1998 k1500 with the vortec 5.7 intermittently won't start. it happens when it's been run for a while/ warm, but not every time. Sometimes it just takes another quick try, others takea retitries. Sometimes if I take the key out and flip it over it works, but I doubt that's an actual...
