i recently bought this truck with a slide in camper and am going to start traveling with it. my question is -- do i chip the truck or change the exhaust to get better mpg and power?
i have talked to a few people and have been told that if i chip it the transmission does not like more than 75hp upgrade, and that the head bolts may not hold up. also with a chip i can have an exhaust brake by varying the vane angle on the turbo (nice to have in the rockies but not needed here in vt.)
another suggestion was to just go with straight exhaust.
don't know what would be the best route for the money, what problems i would cause, and if it would be just as well to leave stock and just sit back, take it easy and enjoy the ride.
ideas, experiences, suggestions would be appreciated
