My truck is making a weird noise when its on. sometimes my check engine light turns on and sometimes its off. but, right now my truck has it on and it makes noise when im at a street light. any idea what this noise maybe its sounds like a clicking/clunking noise. in the engine.

Stop buy an autozone and get the CEL code. Let us know what it is and maybe we can point to the problem.

For our 2007 and newer model year vehicles have a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. If these noises really are coming from the engine compartment and your mileage is within 100,000 then you should be able to get this covered under the warranty, under normal circumstances. If you do decide to take your vehicle into your dealership please update me on the status of your vehicle. Thank you for your time.

found out that i need to use a different oil i was using 5W-30 and they recommended a 10W-30 and the noise is gone. i guess since the heat in my city is crazy it thins out the oil.
