Has there been a fix to the AFM causing the truck to overthrottle after the break is applied and released, as when slowing to turn. The truck wants to run away until the break is applied again.

'08 throttle surge

trying to get a response on this so i'm replying to myself.

Has'nt anyone had the truck surge after applying the break during a turn??? my truck seems to throttle up after the turn to regain the speed it was at before the turn. this has frieghtened my daughter when she 1st drove it. its also happened to me!!!

just bought an 08 sierra, haven't paid attention really but I think if mine was doing this I would notice.

I have noticed that the truck downshifts way too much on decel and the rpms rev up to match (like you would do driving a manual). This sometimes causes un-wanted results for me when trying to accelerate out of a turn.

Sorry to hear about what’s happening with your Sierra! I’d suggest speaking with your dealership so they can help you get this taken care of. If you have any other questions feel free to send me a PM.

Yeah it is kinda strange Something's going on I know if even if I'm in park And I hit the gas Revs when you pull your foot off the gas Almost like it Need a stiffer spring If it was like an old style card

Have not had problems with that but having tranny trouble. Any body had those issues? Shifting between 1st and 2nd and then between 2nd and 3rd.

In simple terms which is about all I can offer, There is No direct mechanical connection with the engine, its drive by wire. You push on the pedal and a electrical signal is sent to the engine for fuel. I been driving them since 2005 as my CTS has it back the. If this is the first vehicle you have with Drive By Wire then you will find it take some getting used to as there can be lag time from when you step on the gas to when it moves. Also depending on driving conditions the 6 sp trans could be hunting for the next gear at the same time you are slowing down.

I found it took some getting used to and it no longer bothers me.

Is there any other advice offered from the GMC Customer Service on this board other than to contact the dealer and post your results? This same response seems to be posted on several threads.

Interesting thoughts, Drive by Wire. My last truck was a five speed, and the driving was all me. My SLE lets me think I'm driving a sporty when in fact it is designed as atruck, and functions as a truck. Something to think on...Tks
