Hello GMC Forum,
I've had my '94 Z71 for 18 years now. I've been loyal to it, and it has treated me very well.
On Wednesday, I lost the motor. Huge rod knock. Going up a hill, pulling a trailer.
I need advise please. The best option for a CARB approved motor swap. I've got to keep the California gestapo happy. I don't want to go through the approval / referee process. Just a clean swap with a crate motor.
I'd like to do better than a simple stock replacement of the existing 210+hp / 300lb motor.
Tranny has been rebuilt, and I did it right. It has been made ready for this swap...
The rest of the drivetrain is stock - including the TBI. While I would like to go fuel injection... it would only be possible if the budget permits.
Any advise would be really appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jim
