I'm just curious what a 1978 Sierra 15's towing capacity is. It came with a 305 and an automatic transmission and is a 1/2 ton truck. I'm looking at getting a 12v Cummins to do a diesel conversion and scavenging parts. I may got to convert it to 4 wheel drive, if I decide to be a real glutton for punishment. I'm also thinking a Goerend automatic transmission. However, I'm just wondering if that kind of transmission would be overkill due to towing restrictions on the frame.
