I have a 1988 GMC Sierra with a 5.7 liter 350 engine. The exhaust is the stock headers going into a catalytic converter and than a single straight pipe all the way back. The noise of the exhaust is nice, but i want it louder. I am thinking of shorty headers, cutting out the catalytic converter and having two straight pipes right off the headers straight out the back with two really short glasspack mufflers. I need to know if the new exhaust will be louder and better than the old one. Suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated. Thank You

...except, I have an '89 (ext-cab/short-bed).
Anyone know of a good header/dual-pipe setup for this truck?
