i have a 1988 gmc sierra regular cab 1500, i bent the door a lil when it got caught on the garage being pushed out. it causes air to come in at the top of it. its in bad shape anyways and i want to change it, i got a door off somebody the other day. and the door would fit on, but when close. theirs almost a half inch gap between the door and the cab, on the door handle side itsself. the door was off a 93, was wondering, i know they look the same, but i heard 88 was a sloppy year for gm, will only a 88 door fit on the truck, or are my hinges bent? the door i have on now fits fine

The door should fix like the old doors did, good chance that the door hinge it self id bent and will need to be replaced. You can try re-bending the hinge with the old door so not to damage the new door, just take your time and if you thing the hinge is too far off. The your going to have to replace the hinge it self. Sorry for the bad:( news.
