1988 jimmy fuel tank

I have a 1988 jimmy with a 5.7. I need a new fuel tank. my question is will a fuel tank from a 1988 jimmy diesel 6.2 work in my jimmy?

No, because the gas truck uses an in tank fuel pump and the diesel does not. Unless you are running a carb, you will need a tank for a gas powered truck. Below is the interchange.
