Hey all. New here. I tried searching the forum about 1991's but didn't see a thread with a question like mine..., so hopefully someone knows.

My father recently past-away, and I now own a very badly beat-up 1991 GMC Sierra, ext. cab, V8, Auto, RWD.

The question I have is: What other year(s) & model(s) of GM trucks could I transplant the Motor and/or Tranny from this truck, into ________ ????
(Please include info on 4x4 models as well).

The problem being with this truck I now have, is that it is wayyyyy rusted out & wayyyyy too many other problems. Only good as a farm / field truck or scrap. I'd like to takes the good stuff from this truck and build another to give to my boy (for hunting in the bush).

You are good up to 1992, as to thats when the transmission was converted into an electronic controlled transmission. But the engine is good up to early 1995.
;)
Hope this helps.

Quick Question...: Does that mean it includes 1992 or not. Same with the 1995 comment? Thanks!

You could drop it really in to any truck you want if you include the wiring and ECM. You'd have to use the 4x4 trans if you wanted it in a 4x4 or have your current trans torn apart to put in a 4x4 output shaft.
