Hello Group,

I'm having a front braking problem. When I come to a quick hard stop, the brake pedal shudders and then goes to the floor! Sometimes the brakes will catch causing the tires to screech, grab the pavement.

When I come to a normal controlled stop, I get none of the above.

I'm not to familiar with the ABS braking system.

I had a Midas Muffler Tech take a look at it and was told that the Idler Arm needed to be replaced along with the Upper Control Arm Bushings, plus new brake pads and rotors turned, with a wheel alignment.

Though the above may be needed, I'm not to sure that this will actually cure the front braking problem.

Is there some sort of controller, sensor involved with the ABS system that could cause this.

Any knowledge to my query would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Darryl

yea an idler arm has nothing to do qwith braking at all its a front end item same with the contrl arm bushings. so what you are saying is you paid him to look at the brakes and he gave you a list of everything else. could be a master cyllinder issue, try pressing on the brake pedal and just have a steady force on it and see if it drops. sounds like the pistons in the master are not sealing on application.
does the truck make a abs noise??

sounds like abs, get a 2nd opinion and have someone testdrive it with you.
