I've got a 97 Jimmy, 4.3 Vortec, 4WD. I have taken it down to Auto Zone and had the error codes checked and am getting a Cyl. #5 misfire. I have changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil so far. Thoughts on what to look at next? My Chilton's manual gives me very little idea as to where to proceed from here. Clogged injector maybe? I have put injector cleaner in but that hasn't solved anything yet. If it is the injector, how hard is it to either pull and clean or simply replace? Thanks for your help.

Start with the simple and have your injectors cleaned properly or you can try using Seafoam. http://www.seafoamsales.com/cleanin...n-vortec-and-other-exotic-intake-engines.html, If that does not fix the issue. Then you might as well replace your SCfI system with the upgrade MPI system for your Vortec engine. http://www.theautoshop.net/VortecMPFI.htm

If you don't want to buy the upgrade, here is a link to where you can get another Injector system for your Jimmy. http://www.injectorwarehouse.com/vortecspider/cp102-6.htm. http://www.injectorwarehouse.com/vortecspider/?gclid=CNq48NT3rqgCFcm8KgodOxZJJQ http://www.theautoshop.net/VortecMPFI.htm

Good luck and keep us posted. :D
