hello

I posted this over on the Blazer forum a few days ago but got no response even though it has gotten over 100 views. I guess that forum is of owners who want to turn their SUV into a monster truck. If you want to do a general repair they cant be bothered.

Anyway enough rant. I want to remove/repair/paint my rear bumper. I feel that it would be better to do it off the truck and would like to know if anyone has removed it off their Jimmy. I saw a YouTube video that showed removing 4 bolts and a shackle underneath and then pull. I think there is a little more to it than that

Anybody done it?

Thanks

Regards
Don

thats all it is, only thing is that the bumper never line up again the same, my recomendation is that tape off what you dont want painted and do it right on the truck

Thank you for the reply. I have been working on it for a few weeks now and I took your advice and taped everything off and stripped the bumper down to bare metal, did the body work/repair,primed and painted it right on the truck. I hope to be posting before and after pictures later today after I get the last coat of base on it. Tomorrow I sand with 1000 grit and then on Monday I can start to clear coat it.

Thanks again for the reply.

Regards
Don

OK here are some pictures. The final coat of white applied. I found that I have some touch ups to do. Going to let it sit for a bit before I work on a couple of runs that have appeared

Considering what I started with turning out a little better than first thought
