1998 GMC Jimmy cherry bomb muffler?

hey i have a cherry bomb glass pack and i would like to put it on my jimmy..but i was told i cant.. reason being im not sure whats its called but its 2 inch before the muffler its like a Triangle shap and he said there a gasket or sumthing is side of it and would not be a good idea to cut/take it off. he said in order to put it on i have to put a whole new muffler system in ..is this true ?? plz help

All you have to do is buy a exhaust flange or have one welded up at any muffler shop to your muffler or an extension pipe. Best thing for you to do is just have a muffler shop install the Cherry bomb for you and i believe the size is 2.5 inch at the flange where the Catalytic converter is, so you can replace you stock muffler with a 2.5 inch size Cherry bomb.

The tail pipe my be 2.25 inch, at this point you might was well upgrade your Cat back to a 2.5 inch system which runs better for the 4.3 Vortec. Good luck and hope this helps.
