Hello i new i hope this is in the right place because i looked everywhere and cant find an answer. This spring i bought a 98 gmc jimmy form and old lady that overheated and blew head gaskets (low compression in 4 cylinders); so i pulled the heads sent them to machine shop to be checked and make true, checked the block all was good put together good compression across the board. Started her ran perfect no problems didn't drive because needed brake lines.
So now to my problem, put new brake lines in go to park it for the night and there is a slight skip in engine, chose to deal with it the next day. Next day go to start it misfiring like mad and then dies like it ran out of gas (parked up hill if that matters), so i think no big deal probably faulty gas gauge. Then go and check fuel pressure and there is fuel pressure and its hold even when i shut the key off (so that eliminates the spider). Then i check for spark at the coil and there is spark (cap rotor and wires are all new). So i move on to compression and that is still the same since i rebuilt the heads. But i notice the new plugs are all fouled and fuel soaked, so i clean them and reinstall. Try to start again and nothing, put in clear flood mode and motor pops bags and stalls then nothing.
The weird thing is that if i let it sit for a week then go to start it with the throttle half way open i can get it to run like crap for 5 to 10 seconds then stalls and then nothing i do will get it to do anything more then crank pop bang and stall. I am out of ideas entirely, if it helps during those 10 seconds of running it threw a map sensor code. Thanks in advance
