Okay, so I will list current problems my GMC is heaving and I am hoping I can get some good tips on how to fix these problems and I get them quickly, here we go:

#1 I have an AirBag Light on. It sometimes goes away but most of the time it is on. It is never off completely. 1 out of 20 times it may dissopear but it always come back during the ride. I know I better take it to a qualified mechanic but I am trying to be one myself in this very situation (ohh getting a new truck is even better) so I need help with tips on what I can do to check things (I also have a manual) starting with easy to do checks so I can at least eliminate those but I am down to taking things apart, have a nice garage and pleanty of tools and eager to fic this myself.

#2 My parking brakes arnt working. I do feel that I am putting tension on brakes but they do not work. Also there is no clicking noise when I depress the parking pedal (not sure if that makes any difference) but they seam to put the tension on the cable however it does stop the car / wheels from moving. How do I check and fix that?

#3 It is a stepside small size and I have been looking for a tailgate but did can not find one at all. Dealership quoted me half of what I paid for this truck. I am okay with and old / used tailgate the problem is I cant find one even calling local junk yards and boy do we have a lot of those around in San Francisco Bay area.

#4 Is there any way I can remove my catalytic converter and take those ruddling parts out of there? I dont want to spend money on a brand new one (expensive) dont have the money actually but I was wondering if there is a way to clean it I mean to remove those broken pieces from the inside.

thats all, thank you!

only thing i can chime in on is the brake issue. Does the pedal stay down on its own? I think the only way you can check the pads is to raise the rear axle and apply parking brake and see if the rear wheels turn. its possible that the cable is seized up and not applying brake. most dont use it, and i was taught to never use it in a customer vehicle because of that issue. goodluck!

Does the pedal stay down on its own? - YES, once I depress it stay down locked untill I release from the release handle.
