my 1998 k1500 with the vortec 5.7 intermittently won't start. it happens when it's been run for a while/ warm, but not every time. Sometimes it just takes another quick try, others takea retitries. Sometimes if I take the key out and flip it over it works, but I doubt that's an actual solution. it shouldn't be the pump, it had plenty of pressure to run through two filters I had in it, one before the real one to catch the crap coming to the good one while I ran tank after tank of injector cleaner( didn't want the crap in the tank hitting the injectors) right now it's really acting up. it just won't start. any ideas?
waited an hour, called my dad(who gave me the rig for school) he said it does this(which it does, but i never have to wait more than five minutes) and that the shop worked on it a while back and said a relay or something would overheat and need to cool down(maybe the fuel pump relay?) looked for the shop paperwork, which i left at home. tried again. still just cranking. put my foot to the floor and cranked for a while, nothing. feathered the throttle nothing. got out, opened the fuse panel, unplugged and plugged the relays back in one by one to not mix any up, unplugged all the big fuses, cleaned the blades off, put them back in and started like nothing was wrong. WTF?
