On my way home all of a sudden my car shut off on me as i tried to start it back up all it would do is turn over i did get it started once for about a minuet or two but then it just quit it has all ways been maintained well and it seems to be getting gas i just filled it up the other day and i just replaced the air filter... any suggestions will be appreciated thanks

fuel pump .. my 96 did the same thing .. without any warning . and the fuel pressure checked. there is a bleeder valve on the fuel line on top of the engine. looks kinda like a tire valve just bigger. you can turn the key one and take something a press the core . let the pressure bleed off if the engine is cold . also have a rag to catch the fuel that excapes . it sould not be much .. Then turn the key off and back on . the pump should try to prime it's self again. . if you don't have any pressure the pump could be bad . also there Fuel pump relay is in the glove box . that could also be bad. there 3 relays in the glove box.. you can exchange the out with each other to see if the pump come back on and the truck start . number them 1.23.3. so you don't get then mixed up. but i believe it is the pump.. just knowing the history of gmc and s-10 trucks .

Well before you dig too much, just ask someone to shake your starter wire that goes on your battery and give a try. Sometimes, they are loose,if it is the case, just tight it from your starter (the bigger bolt) or check your ground located in the inner panel of your car,
Then ,check your fuel pump but I really thing it is a wiring issue or starter/alternator or air before a gas issue.

Good luck
