Ok so my 1999 GMC Suburban 1500 and in the early mornings I have issues starting it up I have to peck it to start up takes awhile but it seems to work, once the car warms up it turns on right away so am trying to figure out the problem could it be the fuel pressure regulator or something else let me know what you think.

There is a good chance that it's the fuel pressure regulator leaking over night and causing fuel to pool in your intake. This would cause your hard start in the morning, you can check but noting your fuel pressure with the fuel system primed. Tune the ignition key to the off position and see if there is any signs of fuel pressure lost within the next 5 min, if there is a fast reading of fuel pressure lost. You have a leak in your fuel pressure regulator.

The other area that could also cause this issue is a faulty CSFI system, here is a link that explain in full the issues your 5.7 vortec engine has concerning your SCFI system. http://members.shaw.ca/betterthanyoutoo/Sticking Poppet.htm

Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Suburban running 100%. But start with the simple and replace your fuel filter, it's located in the inner side if your frame under the drivers door. ;)
