Question regarding no spark to engine.
I drove home from work and it ran just fine. Got home and parked the truck, later when I went out to run to the store, It started, then the service engine and battery light came on and it stalled. After which it cranks but won't catch to start the engine. we check for fuel pump noise, you can hear it running when you turn the key on, we check the primer valve under the hood and there is fuel there, also after trying to start it, you can smell gasoline under the hood. Hooked it up to a diagnostic tool and the tool didn't register any codes stored. We checked it for spark by undoing a spark plug wire and using and extra plug, no spark. we changed the fuse for the air conditioner with the fuse to the engine, still didn't get spark. Side note, the truck has an after market stereo installed but whoever did it, didn't hook it up correctly because it runs only one speaker, also there seems to be an amplifyer under to hood, don't know if that might have caused the issue. (wiring)

Amplifier under the hood sounds like you may have a MSD ignition box that may have gone bad or the fuse has blown. The other thing that comes to mind would be a ICM (ignition control module) has gone bad and will need to be replaced.

Start with inspecting the MSD Ignition module for any wiring damage and a blown inline fuse. If that is good, then have your ICM tested at Auto Zone or NAPA. They test ICM free of charge and if it's bad, replace the ICM. The other area also would be to inspect the wire leads to the ignition coil and coil it self to make sure that it's all in good working order.

Here is a link if you do have a MSD 6A Ignition control on how it's hooked up and also the wiring information to your stereo in your Jimmy. Good luck and keep us posted, sorry but this is the best guess i can take with what you have described.

Update

Had my truck towed to a local dealership. (Its close to home so I could walk back and forth) They hooked it up the the diagonistic and found it it was the coil that shorted out and took the ignition modual with it. Had them replaced and it starts right up again...:D:p
