Just discovered a 17” spare under truck with a 20” wheel package tried rectifying with flemington GMC and they said it was delivered that way by factory. GMC said it is fine, safe to drive with 3- 20” wheels and 1- 17” wheel being the spare tire. I don’t agree and need GMC owners like you to check what you have and let’s tell GMC what we think about this and how unsafe this is!

Do an overall size comparison. If the overall size of the wheel / tire is the same or very close there won't be an issue. I run 19" summer tires / wheels and 17" winter tire / wheels on a different vehicle, but the overall size is the same (keeps speedo correct). My guess is that being it was factory supplied, it will be the same overall size, just GM trying to save a little money on a 20" wheel. There are tools on the web that will let you enter both tire sizes and give you the differences.

My 2017 Canyon Denali has the same 17" spare. I don't see a issue.
