Im new here so take it easy on me lol. I have a 2000 GMC 1500 Sierra Z71 with 185500 miles on it. It has the 5.3 eng and is a hell of a truck until recently. While cooling the truck off one afternoon, just sitting in the driveway with the ac running, it stalled. Tried to restart it several times for it only to just spit and sputter and die again. I let it sit for about 20 mins and it started up just fine. It has done this several times sitting in traffic as well. I have checked and changed the fuel pump and filter, new oil switch and engine temp sensor. Also, I have changed the alternator because while stopping, the volt meter and headlights would drop so low, it would almost stall the truck out. The alternator seems like it gets really hot when I sit and let it run as well. I have checked all grounds on the truck too. Any help in locating my little gremlin would be greatly appreciated.

It seems as if you and I might have the same problem. Did you ever figure out what was wrong with yours?
