Hey guys- I'm new to the forumns. Hows everyone doin'?

I just repleced the starter\solenoid on my 2000 Jimmy today. I had the battery disconnected during this process and I had to remove one sensor that was threaded into what seemed to be an exhaust pipe headed towards the catylic conveter in order to get the starter out. After completing the job my previously dead Jimmy fired right up with more gusto than it has in months. Other than what Ive described above, I didn't touch any electrical components not related directly to the starter\solenoid.

Now I have another problem. The headlights no longer turn on automatically! I'm not sure if the issue is related to something I did or if its just coincidence. The headlights work fine when I turn them on manually using the dial. Could it be a light sensor, or something else? Anyone have thoughts on where I should start?

Thanks in advance guys and gals. :)

Possible they were out already and you just noticed it ?

I would start by checking the fuse in the fuse box .
My 97 has it labeled as DRL

Check your ebrake

I had the same problem and it was because my ebrake pedal wasnt coming up far enough when i released it.Just pull it up with your hand and see if that helps

I bet it is definitely the parking brake. I released it but I think the brake light was still on. Ill try first thing in the morning that has got to be it. Thanks!
