Gmc jimmy stuck in 4 low truck automatically went into 4 low. Then the light for the switch on dash went out replaced the switch on dash and the thing on top of the transfer case still no fire to switch on dash. I need to know how to get it in 2 wheel drive. Somebody told me that there was a ground to the frame but General Motors powder coated the frame and the ground doesn't get a good connection

Are you still stuck in 4 low. My 2000 did the same thing.

I had this problem. Was trying to back a trailer uphill last night and put it in 4 Lo and it wouldn't come out. I must have put it in a bind. I tried this "R>N>D>N>R and repeat" method and kept pushing the 4 Hi button and finally "CLUNK" it went into 4 Hi. Then it was easy to go into 2 Hi. It is not so hard but not easy to finish either, just like choose dog beds, seems to be simple, but still you have a lot to figure out!
