I have 00 sierra 1500, v6 2wd. I just replaced the trans filter, not complete fluid change. it was fine for a week and now it slips going in to first gear. I let off the gas and then it goes in gear. it shifts fine in 2 and 3 gear. if I accelerate hard, it tachs up high and slips a little. also, when I engage in reverse it will have a slight slip as well. should I try some additive to the tranny. please help before I have a bigger problem! Thanks

It does sound like one of your solenoids is sticking. Are you getting a trans slippage code (p1870, I think)....I was getting that code although I was not detecting any slippage, but the engine light would come on. I changed filter and fluid as you did. I also added a can of Lucas Trans Fix.....no problem since.

Ok, so I drained a quart or so of trans fluid and added the Lucas. Now the trans won't go foward or reverse. I'm letting it run as to maybe warm the thick additive up. Is this common when adding the Lucas? Also would the trans lose vacuum so to speak and not be picking up the fluid? Please help! I need all ideas or suggestions please! Thanks
