I own a 2000 gmc Sierra 1500 extended cab 4x4. My brake and abs light keep coming on I've replaced my brakes with new ones and as far as I can tell my abs works fine. And I've had to bit the brakes hard more times than I'd care to say and it's alway been solid dependable smooth stops like at 50mph. Bit the brake(hard) and I'm at a complete stop in about 30 feet The lights just keep popping on while I'm driving. Never when I'm about to cut it on or after. About 15mins they pop on. And I'm not sure what to do about it. I'd hate to go spend a mini fortune on a mechanic to poke around. Thanks guys

I had a buddy that had the same problem only he had a 99 and this happened right after he got new brakes. All he did was disconnected his battery for an hour then re-connect it but dont start it for another hour. If you haven't already fixed this then i would suggest trying it. If you do i would like to hear if this also worked the same way on your vehicle.
