We are in the process of re-installing a motor in our 2000 Jimmy 4x4 4-3L with another 4.3 motor. Do I have to drop the front differential to re install as when I took the old one out the intake manifold was removed. After several attempts to re install there doesnt seem to be enough room to drop it in place without hitting the oil pan on the differential, is there another easier way without doing this? Thanks for any imput......

I'm brand new here but like to help people if I can.

I just installed a used engine in my '99 GMC Jimmy SLT 4x4 and it wasn't exactly fun but do-able without removing the front diff. It did hit on the diff when installing but tilted it forward just a bit and muscled it a bit to get it to slide past to the mounts. It WAS tricky though.

Good luck if you're not already done. ;-)
