I just replaced the transfer case in my 2000 sierra 2500. Its the np8 246. My last one was making the typical popping noise everyone talks about. Then last thrusday it pretty much exploded. I just installed a new one and its making no noise until its in 4x4 then it is making the same noise as before. I had to reuse the old motor from the original transfer case. I'm wondering if its not engaging. all the way or what else the problem could be?
