I have a 2000 Sonoma that will not start when it is rains for a couple of days. It turns over good has fuel and spark. I have had this intermittent problem for several years. It is in the shop now and they cant find problem either. Have replaced coil, ditributor, wires, plugs. Ignition module test good and fuel pressure is above 60 psi. Anyone have ideas. As soon as it drys out it starts and runs great.

Might be the seal under the hood towards the windshield. Might be loose or bad seal and moisture getting in.

Maybe the truck simply doesn't like the rain. My brothers girlfriends car has the same issue. It was the moister getting in.

what is the condition of the ignition wires? If there is moisture in the engine compartment
then it is very easy for the spark to travel to ground through a bad ignition wire that has high resistance. Also what type of dist cap and rotor did ya put on the thing? these engines are finakey and usually only like OEM ignition components (aka) AC Delco.
Anywho, it def sounds like an ignition problem to me. Your on the right track, Good Luck!

Here is what you do........
On a sunny day open your hood engine running. With a spray bottle of water wet down the ign. system till it A) starts shipping or B) stalls or C) you can hear or see spark jumping.

Replace parts as needed.
