I have a 2000 Sonoma with a 5 spd 2.2 liter, 4 cyl engine. I am looking for suggestions on how to increase its power when the A/C is running, I have read posts about upgrading to an electric cooling fan but not sure if this is an option. During winter I get great mileage and good HP from the engine, but once summer rolls around (in Texas) and I am running the A/C it seems that the A/C itself sucks a lot of the power from the engine, and once the clutch fan kicks in (which seems like all the time) I can barely get it moving. Recent work includes the A/C itself, (OEM compressor/dryer and orifice), head gasket, brake booster, and alternator. Also looking for input on coolant, it had dexcool before the head gasket blew, and the repair shop replaced it with standard prestone (green), which I flushed and refilled only last week.
