I notice the past 3 days it seems my truck is shifting like the tow haul is on. It revs up to alot higher rpm when sifting out to next gear. When I put it into neutral or park its idles in between 1000 and 1500 rpm's and normal is around 500 or 600 rpm. I can turn the truck off then restart and idle is normal. After just driving down the road and stop and put in park its idles high again. Any Ideas? No service engine light or anything is on. 2001 GMC Extended cab Z71 5.3L with 4speed overdrive auto tranny. 2001 GMC High Idle

I had this happen again yesterday. Its all because of the high idle. When it shifts like its in tow haul the truck idles at around 1200 rpm's in neutral or park and normal is 500-600 rpm's. But I turn the truck off and start it back up and hasnt done it since again. Any ideas what could cause this?
