2001 GMC sierra??????

So when i turn on the car alarm if i open the passenger door it goes off. but if i open the driver door the alarm dosent go off.???? how can i fix it?

There maybe a short in the wiring from the Jamb Switch, does the dome light come on when the drivers door is opened?

There is a switch located on the door jamb, where the back of the door meets the cab. Check it and make sure it is functioning properly.

Also some models are equiped with a switch on the door handle itself.... might want to check there also. If the dome light is functional and the Jamb Switch is working properly.
