I have a 2001 sierra 1500 with a 5.3 i believe. Truck sat all winter, battery was dead when tried to start but it was over 5 yrs old, changed plugs and wires last year, new fuel line and filter last year as well. The small diameter hose that is connected to the fill neck and gas tank broke off last year and I have yet to replace it as I can't find the nipple on top of the gas tank.
When i try to start the truck it cranks and cranks and acts like it wants to start however it does take sometime for it to finally kick over after the truck runs for sometime it will start right up but when it's cold it takes for ever to start, the check engine light is on last I knew it wasn't anything big atleast that's what the person said who hooked up the code reader told me.
Anyone have any suggestions?
