2001 Sierra SLT Park Neutral and 4 lo.

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I just bought a used 2001 Sierra, i am having an issue with my 4 lo. I put the truck in neutral and press the 4 lo selector and the light just flashes. It will go into 4 hi from 2 hi and back. The other thing that I think might be related to this issue is that my PRND321 will not show P or N when it is in that position.

Any advice would be appreciated.

My truck is a pain to get out of 4L. You hit 2H and it flashes then goes back to 4L it always has since new. I usually make sure im on a flat surface put it in neutral and let off the brake all the way then hit 4H or 2H to get it out. I've even had to back up then put in neutral and try again before it comes out of 4L. Got my 2001 new and its always been this way. Just a FYI.

I think that I might have found the issue, turns out that it could be the Park/Neutral Switch on the side of the tranny. If It is not showing the vehice in Neutral, then it won't go to 4 lo. I am going to check the connection, then replace the switch itself, hopefully that will work. i'll post the results when I get them.

I guess it has been awhile since i posted this, i did fix the issue, turns out that the switch was still good. There are two connectors on that switch, one I am assuming for the park/neutral switch and the other for the D321 side of it, turns out that one of the connectors was loose, I pushed it on all the way and it has been working ever since.
