2002 envoy door ajar problems

my info center keeps telling me my driver side car door is ajar when it's not and it makes my dome lights stay on. any info on which direction to take on this would be great. thank you

was told it's a lock assembly that's faulty on it. anyone ever installed one. just wondering if it's something i want to do or take it to my mechanic.

sounds similar to what I'm getting. Just bought a 2004 Envoy and when I lock the door manually, the door alarm goes off and continues to chime for 5 to 10 minutes....
