2002 Sierra 1500 4.8 5spd 4wd. Truck runs fine, when the battery is charged.
The problem with battery drain is that the security light is always on solid when the key is off. The other problem is that when the truck is running the message center cycles through the Security, Low Fuel and Battery "messages", the ABS and Air Bag lights are always on the Seat belt does not register when it is used, the fuel gauge and temperature gauges do not work, the High beams light and the shift up and 4wd lights do not work.
This all started when a brake line broke, I changed all the lines and had difficulty bleeding them, took it one place they couldn't do it, got it home and then the Passlock system wouldn't let the truck run, took it somewhere else and they changed the passlock, had the dealer reprogram the key, and got the brakes working. Then the problems with the dash started.
I have been chasing grounds, changed the battery, chasing wires, checking harnesses.........Talked to the dealer about hooking it up to see what codes were in the system and "they don't want to get involved, because it sounds like a mess"
Hoping someone has a idea or knows what might be the problem.
