I have an 2003 GMC Envoy that popped a code P0440. It says it is a Evap Emission System leak. I replaced the gas cap and it did not clear the code. It says it could be a vent solenoid problem, purge valve problem or ruptured hose. Has anyone experencied this problem? I need to know what my next step would be. Where is the vent solenoid? Where is the purge solenoid?
Any help is greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Cindy

If you had a issues with your vent solenoid you would have had a DTC code of P0446 evaporative emission system vent control circuit. There was a TSB concerning the corrosion of the filler neck gas tube cracking at the gas tank. If your lucky, your Envoy is covered under that recall for the 2002-2003 Envoy and Trailblazers.

Best thing to do is go to the Dealer and see if your Envoy is covered under that recall and inspect your filler neck gas tube at the gas tank for cracks and corrosion that may be causing your to loose the vacuum from your EVAP system.

Keep us posted and good luck.
